Will you help San Francisco’s working families?
As a working mother, Maria was used to overcoming challenges to keep her family fed, clothed and housed. But recently she was seriously worried when she faced foreclosure on the family home.
We met Maria when we helped Cole Hardware employees connect with community resources. Because she was working, Maria didn’t think she would be eligible for anything and was surprised when she was connected to after-school programs for her children, affordable health care services and free and low-cost banking services. Perhaps most important, we connected Maria with financial counseling services so she can create a sound financial plan for her family and keep the family home secure.
“SF Works opened the door to my American dream. Being put on a path to financial stability was a great blessing, and I’ll tell my grandkids about it for years to come.”
We all know someone, like Maria, who is doing all the right things but struggling to get by on less. In San Francisco, a family of four needs an income of more than $84,000- almost twice what two adults working full-time at minimum wage earn.
SF Works makes sure that hard-working people can keep their lights and gas on, pay for transportation to work, get the medicine they need, and receive financial and career advice to plan for a better future.
Like so many of you, we worry that we will see too many families fall from striving to barely surviving. Please join us today in extending hope and stability to people like Maria through a gift to SF Works.

PS-We need your help to reach our goal of helping at least 3,000 people like Maria get ahead next year.
