Did you know that new California state legislation (AB650) requires you to notify all employees about the federal Earned Income Tax Credit? SF Works and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce are developing tools to help you meet this requirement. In addition, we can help you tell your workers about the Working Families Credit, an additional boost to their take-home pay!
Attend a briefing to find out how to help your employees keep & save more of what they earn.
We will provide ideas and tools to help you tell your employees how to claim tax credits, benefits and other services worth as much as $5,000 for working families in San Francisco.
When you promote the Working Families Credit and the EITC in your workplace you:
- comply with new state laws to notify workers about the federal EITC
- build trust and good will with employees, which in turn can boost retention and increase productivity
- give your employees the ability to keep and save more of what they have earned
- boost the local economy when employees have more money to spend in local businesses like yours
At the briefing, SF Works will help you understand the Working Families Credit and the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and how to be sure you are in compliance with AB650, the new state legislation that requires you to notify your employee about the EITC. We will provide resources to implement ideas that work best for your business, such as hanging posters in break rooms, dsitributing applications and flyers in paychecks ,and placing articles in newsletters.
