Business Innovation Conversation:
What Are "Green Jobs," Really?
Mon., Nov. 2, 2009, 5:30-7:45 pm
SF Chamber Boardroom, 235 Montgomery St., 12th Flr.
It seems everywhere you turn, businesses are “going green” and experts are saying that the future of our economy will be “green jobs.” But what does this mean for the future of your business, your workers and your career?
Join SF Works and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce for an engaging evening networking and educational program.
Karen Chapple, PhD, Director of the Center for Community Innovation at UC Berkeley, will define for us what green jobs are and discuss the preliminary results of her state-wide research of emerging job demand in green businesses. Karen will then moderate a discussion with business leaders about how they are profiting from the public demand for reducing environmental impact and how jobs are changing to meet this change.
Invited panelists include leaders of Microsoft, Recology (formerly Norcal Waste Systems Inc.), Brownie’s Hardware and Luminalt, a regionally headquartered solar company.
